Nolan Catholic Survives Triple Overtime Thriller in Frisco Against Little Rock Catholic

FRISCO-- Nolan Catholic defeated Little Rock (AR) 36-34 in the Catholic Bowl on Saturday. Senior quarterback TJ Williams powered his way into the end zone in the 3rd overtime period to propel his Vikings to victory. Williams played with guts and it took more than one defender to get him to the ground. Williams was very patient in letting plays develop and waiting for his offensive lineman to hit their blocks. Williams also completed 72 percent of his passes on the night. The pads were popping on Saturday and Williams showed his heart with the physicality he ran with.

Sophomore running back Kewon Lacy rushed for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Lacy showcased his shiftiness and ability to change directions and is a physical downhill runner. A number of times he broke tackles and kept moving his legs. It was a slugfest and the Nolan Catholic offensive line was very physical. They imposed their will on the Little Rock defensive line.

The atmosphere in Frisco was amazing and had the feel of a playoff game. Like any game, there were penalties and mistakes that were made but the Vikings showed true grit on the last defensive snap of the game where they swarmed to the ball which led to the game-winning touchdown on the next play.

The Vikings will travel to California next week to take on Santa Margarita. The Vikings will look to carry on the momentum of a huge win into the next week.
