McKinney North Uses Potent Offensive Attack to Power Them to a 44-26 Victory Over Westmoore (OK).


McKinney North exploded offensively in the first half. Gavin Constantine connected on back-to-back touchdown passes with Korbin Hendrix to give McKinney North a 15-0 lead with 6:29 left in the first quarter. Hendrix also had a fantastic catch where he pinned the ball on the back of a defender. Luke Paley intercepted a pass and extended the Bulldogs lead to 22-0 after returning the ball 89 yards for a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, the Bulldogs were physical and lived in the backfield in the first half. The defensive line was physical at the point of attack and pressured the Westmoore offense into making costly turnovers. Right before the half Constantine connected with Kaden Williamson on a touchdown pass to extend the lead to 29-0. Westmoore battled back in the second half with a rushing touchdown by running back Kaibren Grant and Shyheim Johnson to make the score 29-15. Elijah Alexander also rushed for 109 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown to extend the lead to 36-14. Westmoore did not go down without a fight. Brandon Arnold rushed for a touchdown late for Westmoore to make the score 36-20. McKinney North wasted no time in putting an exclamation point on the game as Williamson scored his second touchdown of the game. Constantine gave praise to his offensive line and receivers. "My teammates took care of business and did their jobs. We executed our offense and came out with a win," said Constantine. Constantine threw for 4 touchdowns and 180 yards. His counterpart Korbin Hendrix had 6 receptions, 88 yards, and two touchdowns. McKinney North played downhill and physically imposed their will on the Jaguars of Westmoore. The offensive line opened up holes to set up a balanced attack that kept the Westmoore defense on their heels. Constantine and Hendrix will be a dangerous duo to watch this season. Their chemistry was evident and very impressive to watch. Elijah Alexander was also very impressive on the ground. He runs physically and downhill with the intent to run over whoever stands in his way. McKinney North starts the season off with a win and will take on Justin Northwest next week.      McKinney North defense in their 44-26 victory over Westmoore.      The Wranglers of West Mesquite head to McKinney on Thursday after a tough 56-28 loss to Longview last week. At halftime, the game was tied, but eventually, the Lobos pulled away to start district 1-0. West Mesquite (2-3, 0-1 District 7-5A) takes on the Bulldogs of McKinney North in an important matchup. Both teams head into this matchup 0-1 in district play. This is a swing game that could be very vital as the winner sets themselves up in a good position to make the playoffs as a 3 or 4 seed in the district.       With Longview and Highland Park at the top of that district, that leaves the five other teams contending for two spots. West Mesquite quarterback has thrown for 997 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions in 5 games. He is also completing 57 percent of his passes on the season. Garland quarterback uses inspiration from his family and teammates to fuel his Passion for the game of football

There are many great quarterbacks in the state of Texas, but one from the city of Garland has stood out above the rest so far this season. Cergio Perez is the quarterback for the Garland Owls. In four games this season the Owls have outscored their opponents 207-37. They are off to a 4-0 start and Perez has looked sensational through the first four games. Perez has thrown for 1225 yards and 20 touchdowns this season. Perez is a three year starter and in his third season things have really started to click for the Garland Owls. "It means a lot to be the leader at Garland, I really love the guys here and the coaches here," said Perez. Perez is really confident in his team this year. "Throughout the years there were ups and downs but we got through it and now I really think it is coming together now this year."
